1. Set Up Your Account
Create your account in just three steps:
Provide basic information about your company
Upload your business verification documentation
Accept the SterlingNOW service agreement and required certifications
We Just Need You to Provide
Your legally registered business name, DBA name (if applicable), business classification (Corporation, LLC, etc.) and Employer Identification Number (EIN)
Upload Proof of Business such as:
Acceptance of the SterlingNOW service agreement by an authorized representative of your company to enter into a binding agreement with Sterling and conduct background checks
2. Get Credentialed
We are required to complete a business verification process for security purposes as required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), to ensure that you are a valid business entity with a legitimate purpose to access protected and sensitive consumer information. Upon creating your account, our credentialing team will process your request, which typically takes 1-2 business days. You can start screening today and we will process those orders as soon as your account is approved.
3. Order a Background Screening
Select your screening package
Customize your search with add-on services
Invite your candidate to provide their information or enter it yourself
Check out and pay with your credit card
We'll email you a notification once your requested background screening is complete.
Your applicant can sign all of the needed documents and provide all of the required data themselves. With a click, SterlingNOW sends them a link to our secure portal. When they are done, the order is processed automatically.
View Completed Reports
Log into your dashboard and review completed orders.
Results are provided in your account via PDF and include details on each service requested.
Now it’s Up to You
If your candidate meets your hiring criteria…great! However, if you do not move forward with that applicant, due in part or whole based on the results of the background screening, SterlingNOW has tools for your legal Adverse Action responsibilities.
